Michael is an avid guitar player and instructor, and the founder of Soundboard Music School.
He loves to make music fun and exciting for students.
He graduated magna cum laude from Temple University with a degree in music education.
With more than 10 years of teaching experience, Michael has taught both privately and in a classroom setting and has taught all ages of children and adults.
Soundboard Music School was started because of his love of music and the need and benefit he saw of teaching in homes.
He and his wife, Claudia, have two children, Jude (3) and Evelina (4 mos).
Martha Chan is a pianist, composer, conductor, and teacher currently located in West Chester. A native of California, she earned a B.A. in Piano Performance and Music Education at Concordia University, Irvine, where she graduated summa cum lade and earned the Senior of the Year award in Music Education. She went on to earn a M.M. in Piano Pedagogy at West Chester University, and is currently studying to earn a M.A. in General Psychology.
Martha also directs the adult choir and handbell choir at Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, Coatesville.
Her goal as a teacher is to help students of all ages learn about the piano and music in a fun and friendly environment.
Joseph is an experienced teacher and lifelong musician who plays the piano, guitar, violin and viola. In the past he taught at Princeton Latin Academy and Rutgers University and was also a private music instructor in the Princeton area of New Jersey for 20 years. Presently he works at Conestoga High School in Berwyn, PA.
He obtained his B.S. in Musicology (with emphasis in Music Education) at the College of New Jersey and also studied abroad at Frankfurt University in Germany where he earned 32 credits toward that degree. In addition to music, he also holds an M.A. in German Literature from Rutgers University and has taught German, Italian, and all areas of U.S. and World History in the past. A versatile and seasoned teacher with a kind and friendly manner, he truly enjoys teaching music and providing his students with a well-rounded musical education in conjunction with their instrumental lessons.
An avid musician herself (guitar, voice, flute), Claudia keeps everything organized and running smoothly at the school.
While you will probably only see her face to face at the recitals, she plays a critical part in your lessons every single day!
She is married to Michael Good, the school’s founder. Together they have two children, Jude (3) and Evelina (4 mos).
Nick is a student at West Chester University studying music education and music history. He has experience performing classical, rock, and pop guitar. In addition he has performed vocally with choirs and pop music groups. He is an experienced songwriter and spends time completing extra coursework in music composition at his university.
Above all he inspires his students to appreciate and understand a diverse selection of music in a fun and interesting way.
We provide private weekly lessons in your home for students 5 and older, including adults.
